About
Hi! My name is Robert Kania. I am currently a Computer Science Major at Virginia Tech with minors in Music, and Math. I first started programming in BASIC on my TI-83 back in 8th grade when I thought it was cool to make those “matrix” style scrolling programs. At about halfway through 8th grade I decided to learn HTML since I had learned some very basic HTML in 4th grade. I originally wanted to start a gaming type site, but eventually it turn to my fancy at that time, Yu-Gi-Oh! So for the next few years I dedicated my life to this site, at the end of 9th grade even making it to the 2nd place spot on most topsites for 2 months when I actually formed a staff. Sadly, that host died, though it was costing $20 a month…..not very good deal. Over the course of the years I developed other sites. At the beginning of 10th grade I decided to dedicate myself to learning PHP, which to learn the basics took me about 1-2 months. The reason I had wanted to learn this was because on my Yu-Gi-Oh! site my co-webmaster had found a PHP code that allowed you to change the layout without having to change it for every single page. Sadly, she never learned PHP, but now I understand that code perfectly and am happy I do since it saves a lot of time.
I took Java programming in 11th grade and have taught myself bits of C++, Python, Perl and others since.
