Free Web Hosting

-Places where you can get free web hosting for hosting a site of your own.  The following I have personally used.

• Frihost
A free web host with 250 megabytes of space and 10 Gigabytes of monthly transfer. They require you to post on their forum in order to keep your site up. They offer PHP 5 and unlimited mysql database. They also support ftp. There are also no ads on these sites because the host has ads on their forum. Their hosting server is usually up.
• Dhost
Deluxe Host has 100 megabytes of space but a whopping 300 Gigabytes of monthly transfer. They allow only one mysql database, but also offer PHP 5. They have ads on their sites, but not too annoying. Their hosting server is usually up, though some downtime lasts a logn time.
• Hostultra
This site has popup ads but they have unlimited transfer and space. They offer PHP but no mysql unless you pay a $5 one time fee.
• 50 megs
They offer 50 megabytes of webspace (as the name suggests) and 1 Gigabyte of monthly transfer. They have ads at the top of their pages. This site used to be hosted here.

-Places where you can get free web hosting for hosting a site of your own. The following I have NOT personally used.

• Host On Us
Supposedly they offer:

  • Powerful DirectAdmin control panel
  • Full FTP access
  • PHP scripting
  • MySQL Databases
  • and much, much more!
